Seminar on Teaching Social Skills using ABA Approach
Social interests and social skills are major needed areas of intervention for young children with autism spectrum disorder. In this one-day seminar, Mr. Mountjoy will share an overview of different approaches to teaching social skills, including social stories, floor time and inclusion. He will also share how the Autism Partnership model can assist in evaluating and establishing foundational skills and how to create social objectives using the social skills taxonomy. In addition, Mr. Mountjoy will present teaching interactions as an approach and demonstrate this as a teaching method for social skills. Numerous videos will complement the presentation, so the audience can see how the AP model can be applied.

Mr. Mountjoy is the Associate Director of AP and a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). With over 20 years of experience in working with individuals with Autism, he will share his expertise and give strategies on how children can reach their potential, enrich social skills and maximize progress among others. He will also present a wide range of programs and effective approaches developed by Autism Partnership. |
